TSLTAN SRI LEE KIM YEW

PATRON OF WCES FOUNDER & DEPUTY CHAIRMAN OF COUNTRY HEIGHTS HOLDINGS BERHAD

TAN SRI LEE KIM YEW is the founder of the CHHB Group. He was appointed as the Group Managing Director on 1st October 1986 and has guided CHHB on to a robust growth path. His contribution to CHHB is immeasurable, as he has etched an important era in the history of CHHB in Malaysia, bringing it to a glorious peak. After his tenure of nearly 20 years in CHHB, he has recently hand-over the baton to his successor in April 2008 but will continue to support the Board from the advisory role. He currently is the Patron of World Chinese Economic Summit.

A renowned and respected figure in the property industry, Tan Sri Lee has almost 30 years of hands on experience in residential, industrial park, hotel and leisure, commercial and recreational projects. His transformation of the world’s largest open cast tin mine into a resort city with breath-taking landmarks such as the Palace of the Golden Horses, Mines Resort and Golf Club, Mines Beach Resort and Spa, Mines Shopping Fair, Mines Wonderland, Mines Waterfront Business Park and Malaysia International Exhibition and Convention Centre has earned The Mines Resort City, the National Creativity & Innovation Award 2004 by the Malaysian Design Technology Centre. Hailed as an innovator, Tan Sri Lee pioneered the concept of country living at Country Heights which earned the Group the Best Residential Property Development Award by FIABCI in 1992. The prestigious Palace of the Golden Horses, another brainchild of Tan Sri Lee, received “the best new city hotel” award in Asia by Travel Trade Gazette Magazine and recognition as one of the world’s hottest new hotels by Conde Nast Traveller Magazine.

He also sits on the Boards of Malaysian South-South Corporation Berhad, Mines Golf Resort Berhad, Co-Chairman of Malaysia-China Business Council, Advisor of Malaysia Buddhist Association, Founder and Honorary Chairman of Young Entrepreneurs Association of Malaysia and various private companies.

He is a major shareholder of CHHB by virtue of his substantial shareholdings in Country Heights Venture Sdn Bhd.

 

 

Tan Sri Michael YeohTAN SRI DATO’ DR MICHAEL YEOH

CHAIRMAN, ORGANISING COMMITTEE, WORLD CHINESE ECONOMIC SUMMIT

TAN SRI DR. MICHAEL O.K. YEOH is a public intellectual, social entrepreneur and thought leader. He is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute (ASLI), recently ranked as one of the world’s and region’s top think tanks. ASLI was ranked no. 23 in the world among think tanks with budget below USD5 million and 22 in the world among think tanks to watch. ASLI’s Centre for Public Policy Studies (CPPS) was also ranked 7th best in Asia Pacific region. Dr. Yeoh is also the Founder Vice-Chairman of Centre for Public Policy Studies (CPPS).

Dr. Yeoh was appointed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia to be a Member of the National Unity Consultative Council, the Advisory Board of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and a Commissioner in Malaysia’s Competition Commission. He was appointed by the Malaysian Government to be Malaysia’s Representative with Ambassador status on the ASEAN High Level Task Force on connectivity. He has served two terms as a Commissioner in Malaysia’s Human Rights Commission.

With over 30-years corporate experience, he sits on the Board of Directors of Pan Malaysia Corporation, Malaysia-China Business Council and MUI Properties and was a Director of Star Publications and the National Heart Institute. He also sits on the Board of Governors of the Wawasan Open University and the Research Advisory Committee of the University of Malaya. He is also Chairman of the World Chinese Economic Summit and the ASEAN Leadership Forum.

He graduated in Economics and Accountancy from Australia’s Monash University and has undertaken senior executive programmes at Harvard Business School and Aresty Institute of Wharton School. He was conferred a Doctorate in Laws (honoraris causa) by the University of Nottingham. He is a sought after speaker at international conferences and has authored several books on leadership, management and politics. Dr.Yeohis also a member of the Institute of Strategic and International Studies London, the UK Institute of Directors and Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Management.  He enjoys photography, reading and travelling.

 

 

Ng Yeen SeenMS. NG YEEN SEEN

SENIOR PROGRAMME DIRECTOR, WORLD CHINESE ECONOMIC SUMMIT

Ms. Ng Yeen Seen is a public intellectual and a young thought leader. She is the Chief Operating Officer at the Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute (ASLI) and the Senior Director at the Centre for Public Policy Studies (CPPS). ASLI was recently ranked as one of the world’s and region’s top think tank. ASLI was ranked no. 23 in the world among think tanks with budget below USD5 million and no. 22 in the world among think tanks to watch. ASLI’s Centre for Public Policy Studies (CPPS) was also ranked 7th best in Asia Pacific region.  She is also the Senior Programme Director of the World Chinese Economic Summit and was Head of Secretariat of the Malaysia-China Business Council.

An Accounting graduate of Cardiff University, UK; she holds a postgraduate degree in Education Policy from Warwick University, UK.

In 2011-2012, Yeen Seen was selected as a National Youth Icon by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malaysia. She was also appointed to serve on the Technical Committee for the National Wage Council, established by the Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia.

She was part of the International Visitors Programme observing the Indonesia Legislative Election Campaign in April 2009 and was selected by the Government of Australia to attend a course at the University of Sydney Graduate School of Government, Australia. She is analumniof the esteemed Korea Foundation’s Next Generation Leaders Course 2010; the prestigious International Visiting Leaders Programme(IVLP) to the United States in May 2011 and the JENESYS East Asia Future Leaders Programme of Japan in 2012.

She facilitated seminars at the International Academy of Leadership in Germany and facilitated various national conferences and training programmes in Malaysia, and abroad.

Yeen Seen’s experience includes political analysis, business development, research and policy analysis, strategic communications, spearheading publicity and communications, International Diplomacy and International Relations.

Prior to joining ASLI/CPPS, Yeen Seen served at the Wawasan Open University and SEDAR Institute, a political think tank as the Deputy Director-General.

Yeen Seen is a frequent commentator of politics, education, economics and youth empowerment in national newspapers and often appears on various TV programmes. She has addressed numerous international conferences and is a frequent contributor at many policy roundtable discussions at both the Federal and State levels.

Yeen Seen is passionate about creating a better society and she believes that she needs to be the change that she wishes to see.
