Cheri Ong is a Board member of Multicultural Arts Victoria, one of Australia’s most important bodies for the discovery, development and promotion of culturally and linguistically diverse contemporary art, heritage and cultural expression.
She is also the Chair and Founder of the Asian Australian Foundation, a community foundation that gives voice and inspires change through philanthropy and social enterprise by harnessing the resources of the Asian Australian community.
She was formerly Head of Regulation and Compliance of KPMG Australia and the Asia Pacific Chief Operating Officer for KPMG Risk Management, which covered 15 countries in the Asia Pacific. In this role, she led and was on various KPMG global and regional leadership committees which focused on facilitating and establishing trusted business relationships in Asia. These roles involved corporate entrepreneurship and leadership as well as creating and leading teams for change.
She is also a Love of Language Ambassador for the Australian Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
