Dr. Guo Wanda is the Executive Vice President of China Development Institute (CDI), and the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Association of Hong Kong & Macau Studies. Dr. Guo received his PhD in Economics from Nankai University in Tianjin, China.
Dr. Guo specializes in China’s Macroeconomic & Industrial Policy Studies. In recent years, he has focused on China’s opening policy, focusing on China’s role as the world factory. Dr. Guo pays special attention to the development of China’s Special Economic Zones and the economic relationship between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
As an accomplished author, he has published books such as Perspective on the Development Between Shenzhen & Hong Kong and the Integration of the PRD Region, Made in China: Word Factory Transferred to China, and Low Carbon City: A Non-Regret Option.
CDI is a non-governmental think tank that develops solutions to public policy challenges through broad-scope and in-depth research to help advance China’s reform and opening-up. As the Executive Vice President of the CDI, Dr. Guo is in charge of economic research & consulting, focusing on the Chinese government’s policies for both central and local governments.
