Dato’ Sri David Yeat, a co-chairman of the World Economic Chinese Summit (WCES) had obtained an MBA from American University, Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration from the American University and Honorary Bachelor from City University of Hong Kong. In 1999, he was conferred with the title of Datuk, at the same year he won the Malaysian Outstanding Young Award. Also, he won the 2003 Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (business, economic and entrepreneur category). In 2015, again conferred by the Royal with a Dato’ Sri title.
He founded the companies that involved in wide range of businesses nature, across the fields of manufacturing, food processing industry, raw materials, domestic and foreign trade, marketing, construction, research and development, and investment management. Dato’ Sri David is also the founder and current Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GD Holdings Sdn Bhd.
He founded the Kuala Lumpur Junior Chamber International and served as founding president; also served as the honorary adviser of Malaysian Association of Young Entrepreneurs, Malaysia Association of Xianglian Youth and Youth Movement of Malaysia. He also served as a visiting professor at the Southern Medical University of China.
He was appointed as a (the first overseas) consultant for Thai Senate in 2003. In 2008, he received an Award of Excellence from the Association of Malaysia Fulian, a special award on the protection of intellectual property rights. In 2009, he won the APEC region most outstanding entrepreneurs award. Dato’ Sri David officially founded GD Development Sdn Bhd. Due to his active involvement in China Foshan City, Dato’ Sri David was appointed as the Executive Council Member of Foshan Overseas Exchanges Association and Foshan Overseas Investment Advisor by the Foshan City Government in 2015.
